Horsell Common

know about us, and that the rest is in the lyrics and the music.
• There are only three of us, because we don’t want to be in a band with anyone else. Leigh Pengelly plays drums and is the resident musical genius. Luke Cripps plays bass and is the guy everyone parties with. Mark Stewart plays guitar and sings and writes the lyrics.
• ‘The Rescue’ is our debut album, and it is fucking awesome. It was recording by a guy called Stephen from America. He knows The Pixies and grew up near Michael Jordan. He yelled at us a lot and said we play music weird. We thought that was pretty funny.
• We have taken 5 years to make an album because we kept releasing EPs until we felt we were ready. Our last EP came out last year and was called ‘Satellite Wonderland’. It started out with a car crash that we sampled from a really bad soap opera’s last episode, and we are scared one day we’ll get sued.
• Triple J plays our songs and we love them for it. Lately JTV and Channel V are even loving our song ‘Good From Afar’, which we did a clip for not long ago.
• We aren’t an emo band, but we sometimes get labeled that because some of our friends are. We play what we like to call alternative rock, because that sounds way cooler than just rock.
• ‘The Rescue’ is a bit different than our other stuff, because we found out that we can play slower and smarter sometimes, and still have fun.
• Our lyrics mean a lot to us, and we think these are the best we’ve ever written.
• We tour a LOT, and sometimes people dance at our shows.
Please take all this into account when listening to our CD, anything else you have heard is now irrelevant. All that matters to us is the music, and we hope that’s all that matters to you once you hear our record.
